Reproduction steps

Gather the five items he asks for to upgrade a basic weapon
I chose the assault rifle
attempt to finish the quest by turning in the five items and the basic weapon
he fails the turn in, returns the five items, and appears to eat the basic weapon
but he did not, he returns the basic weapon but its not visible
play some more
upgrade newcomers armor to omni newcomers
level them up to current level
when I get to the breastplate, it cant be leveled up because when you try it says
Not a valid location for this Solar-Powered Assault Rifle.
Not a valid location for this Solar-Powered Assault Rifle.
Not a valid location for this Solar-Powered Assault Rifle.
This Solar-Powered Assault Rifle cannot be used.

Expected results

The five items and the basic weapon would be returned as the upgraded version as if antonios machine had been used.

Actual results

very broken inventory.

Bug prevalence

I think this is probably repeatable but I am not certain.
